Can Ceramic Capacitors Be Used In Filter Circuits
Different filter circuits have different requirements for the capacitance of the capacitor. High-frequency filter circuits should use small-capacitance capacitors, while low-frequency filter circuits require large-capacitance capacitors.
Ultra-high frequency filter circuits using small-capacitance capacitors mostly use ceramic capacitors; low-frequency filter circuits using large-capacitance capacitors use electrolytic capacitors.
Ceramic capacitors are capacitors with a "plate" structure. Simply put, they are capacitors formed by two parallel metal sheets leading to two leads, and separated by insulating materials in the middle. This structure has a small capacitance, but the capacitance is stable, and the equivalent inductance is very small. Where a component is used, the equivalent inductance is an important parameter.
The equivalent inductance of the ceramic capacitor is small, so it can be used in high-frequency occasions, and the working frequency can reach more than 100 megabytes, so it is mainly used in high-frequency filter circuits. If an electrolytic and a ceramic capacitor are used in parallel, it is to make them "high and low match" to achieve better filtering effect.
